Birthdays and work

Well, first off apologies to both cheyannew and rathacat, whose birthdays I missed on the 15th and 19th respectively. But I'm still trying to get used to working the 3rd shift while helping open a new store so it's keeping me hopping. But I hope you both (especially, my 'sis' Cheyanne) had great birthdays.

But work's going well enough, we're in our new and not yet opened store. And this is my first non-working weekend, after getting off Saturday morning, I came home and had time enough to get a shower, change of clothing and pack an overnight bag for my brother and sister-in-law came to pick up my mom and myself before we drove to Atlanta to help clean out my recently departed uncle's home. It was rough on all of us, but we got it done.

Getting caught up

Well, this has been a busy week, first off let me apologize to usdutchkitty for missing her birthday on the 4th, on the other hand I'm still on time to wish happy birthday to tygercowboy! Furthermore, I want to mention that also on the fourth was officially topazdawnrose and my third anniversary though we observed it this past weekend at the place we first met in person, ConCarolinas. Also, yesterday was the third birthday of my kid brother's little guy, so I've been an uncle for three years now. Let me not forget that this is the 69th anniversary of the Normandy Landings.

Now as for what I've had going on lately, between my uncle passing and my getting employed by WalMart, Topaz and my family decided that I needed to blow off some steam at ConCarolinas, which was indeed fun. I've also never had concrud in my life, well, I can't say that now. I was stuffy, headaches and a fever Monday night, and I had orientation with WalMart on Tuesday. Thankfully I managed to feel well enough to drive up to the location I had to go to and made it through the day though by the time I went home I back slid. But I'm feeling much better now, just a little sore throat and stuffiness, no fevers *knock on wood*. That's about the state of things right now, I just felt like I needed to share.

I debated posting about all this week.

This has been a roller coaster of a week, starting off on a low now back on Sunday when my favorite uncle passed away after a three year fight with colon cancer. It's hit my family hard, I'm still mostly numb over losing the last of my three father figures growing up.

On Thursday, I went out and caught the new Star Trek, partially because I need some normalcy, partially because I've caught all twelve motion pictures first run in the theaters. It reminds me a lot of The Wrath of Khan, not least of which that was the Star Trek that came out just after we lost my material grandfather, the first of my three father figures.

Finally, some good news, it looks like after *ahem* too long, I may be rejoining the ranks of the employed. Walmart is opening a new store and they've been calling me back in, and it looks like Tuesday that I may be called back in for what may be another interview, but sounds like a good chance of a job offer being put on the table, and trust me, I'll take it.
